Dormitory for female students

OVERVIEW

The Female Student Dormitory project, established in collaboration with ARO (Australian Relief Organization), aims to provide a conducive living environment for female students pursuing high school and university education in Kampong Cham city. The dormitory serves as a safe haven for students from diverse backgrounds, promoting inclusivity and equal access to education without discrimination based on political, racial, color, or religious factors.

Location: Kampong Cham city, Kampong Cham province, Kingdom of Cambodia

ADMISSION PROCESS

The admission process for the Female Student Dormitory ensures that all prospective residents are evaluated fairly and equitably, based on their academic potential and commitment to adhering to the dormitory’s guidelines. The process is designed to identify students who will thrive in the dormitory’s supportive environment and contribute positively to the community.

1. Examination: All students seeking admission to the dormitory are required to take an examination covering general knowledge and science. This examination serves as a baseline assessment of the students’ academic abilities and readiness for higher education. It also helps to ensure that students have the necessary foundational knowledge to succeed in their studies while residing in the dormitory.

2. Interview: Students who successfully pass the examination are invited for an interview with the dormitory’s admissions committee. During the interview, students have the opportunity to discuss their academic goals, personal interests, and reasons for seeking accommodation in the dormitory. Additionally, the interview serves as a platform to introduce the rules and regulations of the dormitory and to clarify any questions or concerns the students may have.

3. Introduction to Rules and Regulations: The interview process includes a detailed overview of the rules and regulations governing life in the dormitory. This includes guidelines related to academic conduct, residential responsibilities, community engagement, and personal conduct. Students are provided with a comprehensive understanding of the expectations placed upon them as residents of the dormitory, as well as the consequences of non-compliance with these guidelines.

4. Mutual Agreement: Following the introduction to the rules and regulations, students are asked to sign a mutual agreement indicating their understanding of and commitment to abiding by the guidelines set forth by the dormitory. This agreement serves as a formal acknowledgment of the students’ acceptance of the dormitory’s rules and their willingness to comply with them throughout their residency.

By implementing a rigorous admission process, the Female Student Dormitory ensures that its residents are well-prepared academically and socially to thrive in their studies and contribute positively to the dormitory community.
